As the temperatures continue to rise we are reminded that summer is fast approaching. To commemorate the excitement of warm temperatures and outdoor recreations the 92nd Air Refueling Wing safety office is hosting their 9th Annual Summer Fun and Safety Fair May 22, much of it occurring at the Deel Community Center.

Inside the Deel many businesses from the local area will have booths and displays. Organizations from base will also be participating in this event. There are some exciting demonstrations on the schedule; the 92nd Security Forces Squadron will have two military working dog demonstrations and the fire department will demonstrate the jaws-of-life. The 36th Rescue Flight will demonstrate a combat search-and-rescue on the parade grounds and for the entire length of the fair, volunteers from the Safe Kids of Spokane Child Passenger Safety Team will conduct safety seat checks.

The Summer Fun and Safety Fair is fun for all, military and civilian alike. "This is our way of showing everybody on base that there are plenty of things to do in the Spokane area," said Tech. Sgt. Michael Bacon, 92nd Air Refueling Wing, ground safety noncommissioned-officer-in-charge.

This event goes hand-in-hand with the 101 Critical Days of Summer briefings, scheduled the same day. The briefings will be held in the base theater and are mandatory for all 92 ARW military personnel and highly recommended for military dependents and civilians.
