Fairchild leadership, in partnership with Balfour Beatty Communities, is pleased to announce the long awaited milestone of lease signing is finally a reality. Balfour Beatty Communities and the Air Force Housing Office will help housing residents complete their housing privatization leases at the Deel Community Center June 9-11. While there have been delays due to unforeseen circumstances such as fluctuating financial market conditions, the privatization effort will soon be complete.

The actual transition of military housing to Balfour Beatty Communities is scheduled to occur at midnight, July 13. A smooth transition from government-owned military family housing to privatized family housing is expected.

Residents who have previously completed their Privacy Act letters can accomplish their lease signing in a matter of minutes. Simply go to the Deel Community Center on June 9-11 and all the paperwork will be ready to sign your lease. Remember to bring current Leave and Earning Statements so Balfour Beatty Communities can verify the accuracy of our payroll information to initiate your housing allotment.

Residents who have not previously completed their Privacy Act forms will not be able to sign a lease at the Deel Community Center. Come to the housing office to sign a Privacy Act release and an appointment will be made to complete the lease signing.
If the sponsor is deployed but has completed a special power of attorney prior to their departure, the family member with the power of attorney may sign the lease as described above. If not, please visit the Air Force Housing Office for assistance.

If you do not intend to sign a lease for privatized housing, visit the Air Force Housing Office as soon as possible to make arrangements to terminate housing and move off base. Be aware the move is government funded.

Housing privatization is all about making better housing available for our Airmen in a community where you choose to live.
