Highlighted Events:

June 28-29: Spokane Hoopfest '08
More than 3,000 volunteers are needed to make the Hoopfest tournament a success and they are now taking names. There are numerous opportunities at Hoopfest; the most crucial volunteer is the Hoopfest Court Monitor. Hoopfest will honor a two-day commitment as a Court Monitor with NIKE shorts, shoes, monitor t-shirt, and hat. To register visit www.spokanehoopfest.net or download the application form. June 17 and 19: KHQ TV children's bike project
KHQ TV (the local NBC affiliate) is sponsoring a children's bike project for charity. Volunteers are needed from 6 - 9 p.m. June 17 and 19. Children's bikes will be donated, repaired and given out to local children. For more information call Louise Hansen, KHQ's community affairs manager, at 995-1068.

June 18-19: Military Personnel Flight closure
Due to Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System upgrades, the Military Personnel Flight Customer Service DEERS/CAC/ID Cards section will be closed June 18 - 19.


June 20: Family Fun Day
The Airman & Family Readiness Center will host a Family Fun Day for spouses and families of deployed members. The event will be from noon - 3 p.m. June 20 at the Fun Spot. Activities will include free bowling, roller skating, miniature golf. Also free pizza and drinks while they last. This event is opened to deployed members spouses and their families. This quarter's event for Operation Home Front is sponsored by the Airman and Family Readiness Center and 92nd Services Squadron. For more information call 247-2246.

June 21 - 23: 92nd MDG Refill Pharmacy closure
The 92nd Medical Group Refill Pharmacy located beside the Base Exchange is undergoing renovations and will be closed June 21 - 23. The pharmacy will re-open June 24.

June 26: Deployed Spouses Dinner 
Spouses of deployed Fairchild Airmen are invited to attend a dinner at the Deel Community Center at 6 p.m. June 26. For more information contact Master Sgt. Tracy Flax at 247-2312.

Miller Park Gazebo reservations
Interested in barbequing at Miller Park? Make a reservation with Outdoor Recreation for a Gazebo May 1 - October 31. Gazebo use is free. For more information call 247-2511.

Brazilian Jujitsu every first and third Tuesday
Brazilian Jujitsu lessons are available at the Survival Fitness Center every first and third Tuesday of the month from 4:30 - 6 p.m. Classes are $20 monthly and are available to members and dependents of Fairchild age 16 and older. Headquarters Road and parking lot closure
Headquarters Road and the parking lot behind the Wing Headquarters building are closed for construction. Parking is available at the old parade grounds on Bong Street. Access to the Headquarters Bldg. during construction will be the front and side doors. Upon completion of the project in late July, Headquarters Road will no longer connect to Mitchell Drive; it will only be used to access the new parking lot behind Wing HQ from SAC Blvd. Contact Mike Harper, 247-3108, if you have any questions.

Public Health walk-in hours for pre-deployers
In an effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the pre-deployment medical process, Public Health has established walk-in hours for medical processing of pre-deployers every Monday through Thursday from 7:30 - 11 a.m. Customers will continue to be seen outside of these hours Monday through Friday by appointment only. Appointments can be made in person or by calling 247-8486.

Thrift Shop accepting consignments and donations
The Thrift Shop is currently accepting consignments and donations for spring and summer clothing. Thrift Shop hours are: Mondays, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Call the Thrift Shop, 247-5913, for more information.

Attention all Fairchild communication systems users
The use of government communication systems such as, but not limited to, telephones, fax machines, computers, computer networks (including internet access), cellular phones, PDAs, Blackberrys and hand-held radios constitutes consent to monitoring. Also, please ensure that all government owned and issued telephones, fax machines, PDAs, Blackberrys, cell phones, hand held radios and standalone computers have an attached DD form 2056.
