Big Brothers, Big Sisters
Michael Anderson Elementary School is looking for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, men and women who are free to spend one lunch hour per week with a child at the school. They would have lunch together and be with them at recess. Consistency is critical for children, as they become very attached to their big brother or sister. The school understands there are times when a Big Brother or Big Sister may be gone out of town or have other setbacks and will work around this.

Applications are available at the school. Volunteers will be screened by Big Brothers, Big Sisters and an interview scheduled. For information call Cheryl Stitt at 565-3604.

What's for Lunch Food Drive
More than 90 volunteers are needed to work at five local area Yoke's locations, including Argonne Road, Montgomery Avenue, Indian Trail Road, North Foothills Drive, Market Street and East Sprague Avenue locations. Shifts are available from 8 a.m. - noon, noon - 4 p.m. and 4 - 7 p.m. The food drive benefits Second Harvest's network of 20 neighborhood food banks and the children and families they serve. The food raised plays a key role in helping low-income children eat through the summer months, when many lack easy access to USDA summer meal programs. For more information visit www.2-harvest.org and click on Volunteer Your Time; for other concerns call Julie Nesbitt at 252-6242.
