What's for Lunch Food Drive
More than 90 volunteers are needed to work at five area Yoke's locations, including Argonne Road and Montgomery Avenue, Indian Trail Road, North Foothills Drive, Market Street (Mead), and East Sprague Avenue, near Sullivan Road. Shifts are available from 8 a.m. to noon, noon to 4 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. on July 11. Make an impact on child hunger by volunteering for the "What's for Lunch Food Drive." The food drive benefits Second Harvest's network of 20 neighborhood food banks and the children and families they serve. The food that is raised plays a key role in helping low-income children eat through the summer months, when many lack easy access to USDA summer meal programs.

For more information contact Julie at 252-6242 or jnesbitt@2-harvest.org.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters
Michael Anderson Elementary School is looking for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, men and women who are free to spend one hour per week during lunch with a child at the school. They would have lunch together and be with them at recess. Consistency is critical for children, as they become very attached to their big brother or sister. The school understands there are times when a Big Brother or Big Sister may be gone out of town or other setbacks and will work around this.

Applications are available at the school. Volunteers will be screened by Big Brothers, Big Sisters and an interview scheduled. For information call Cheryl Stitt at 565-3604.
