Friend to Friend of Spokane Friend to Friend of Spokane is seeking recruits from the community who can make a commitment to regularly visit residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities, particularly those without visiting friends or family. Fairchild Family Oasis The Family Oasis is looking for energized, committed and enthusiastic volunteers to teach child/family activity classes. Group Health Bike Race One to two volunteers are needed to assist a Mobius Kids staff member at the Mobius Kids booth where they will be providing fun activities for children visiting the bike race Sept. 28. Shifts are at 11 - 1 p.m. and 1 - 3 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the Pavillion Park at Liberty Lake, Wash. Big Brothers, Big Sisters Michael Anderson Elementary School is looking for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, men and women who are free to spend one hour per week during lunch with a child at the school. They would have lunch together and be with them at recess. Consistency is critical for children, as they become very attached to their big brother or sister. The school understands that there are times when a volunteer may be gone out of town or other setbacks and will work around this. Applications are available at the school.
