The 92nd Air Refueling Wing Force Support Squadron collected an unprecedented amount of Air Mobility Command awards over the course of 2008 by earning 11 awards.

The Airman and Family Readiness Center, Arts and Crafts Center, Child Development Center, Civilian Personnel Program, Education and Training Program, Outdoor Recreation, and Resource Management Program were all among the group and program winners. The FSS also swept individual categories with Junior Civilian Education and Training Manager, David Smith; Senior Enlisted Education and Training Manager, Master Sgt. Chonthicha Lane; Civilian Flight Chief of the Year, Stacy Compton; and Senior Non-commissioned Officer of the Year, Master Sgt. Erika Fisher.

Even with the recent merger of the Mission Support and Services Squadrons, the numbers are quite staggering, said Maj. Jason Knight, 92nd FSS commander.

"Some of the most impressive awards to me are the individual awards," he said. "While everyone who won did a great job and deserved everything they won, the individual awards are particularly impressive because there are so many great people in the command, it is an honor to be singled out amongst them."

The commander was impressed with all the awards, though, and found it inspiring that so many areas of the FSS have won multiple years in a row.

"Having so many awards each year spread over the entire squadron really shows that the squadron doesn't stop working for the customer," Major Knight said. "Many of these are repeat winners and that shows they don't rest or accept that which has already proven to be working. They're always looking for ways to do things bigger and better for the customer, and not simply maintaining the status quo."

As they wait to find out which areas won at the Air Force-level, the members of the FSS will continue to go above and beyond in their day-to-day tasks.

"These awards even at the MAJCOM really show a standard of excellence in all functions of the FSS," Major Knight said. "Being able to have all these areas compete and win for two straight years is certainly impressive and nothing I've ever seen before."
