Zombie apocalypse preparation a success Published Oct. 31, 2012 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- To survive a zombie attack, people don't need to run faster than the zombie, they just need to be faster than the person next to them. The Fairchild Airman's Running Team hoped to train people to do just that. This "zombie-themed" run started at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Funspot and afforded medical Airmen an opportunity to practice their skills with moulage makeup which is essential for effective mass casualty exercises. During this event each runner wore a flag belt representing their health. Runners who finished with flags remaining were survivors of the zombie apocalypse. The running team typically meets Tuesdays around 4:50 p.m. at the Funspot for a three-to-four mile run. Anyone looking to become a member of the FAR team should contact Staff Sgt. Sean Devereaux, team vice president, at 247-5882. View the slideshow.
