Fairchild releases comment about environmental impact statement process Published March 25, 2013 By 92 Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Office Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. -- Given ongoing interest regarding proposed developments and the Environmental Impact Statement process, Fairchild Air Force Base officials released the following statement: The Air Force is a Cooperating Agency with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and is also a neighbor with Airmen who live and work in the community. The Air Force has provided fact based information to the BIA to ensure their analysis addresses relevant issues accurately. Areas discussed for example - and reflected in the Environmental Impact Statement - include Air Installation Compatible Use Zones, Joint Land Use Studies, compatibility with military air traffic operations, and the like. "We appreciate the ongoing efforts by all parties to fully consider and adapt, while moving forward to meet the long term needs and interests of all key stakeholders," said Col. Brian Newberry, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander.
