During the month of June 2017, five Airmen received nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, one Airman received a vacation action and two Airmen were involuntarily separated. Commanders used the following actions as means of punishment, rehabilitation, and maintaining good order and discipline.

NONJUDICIAL PUNISHMENT (ARTICLEs 15)

92nd Maintenance Squadron

A staff sergeant had a prior suspended punishment under Article 15, which was vacated for failing to obey a lawful order, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ, and failing to go to his appointed place of duty, in violation of Article 86, UCMJ. The punishment that was vacated was a suspended reduction to the grade of senior airman.

92nd Medical Support Squadron

A senior airman received an Article 15 for negligently failing to complete the end of day checklist and perform daily duties of transferring patient samples into storage, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ. This member’s punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to the grade of airman first class and a reprimand.

92nd Security Forces Squadron

An airman first class received an Article 15 for failing to refrain from operating a vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ. This member’s punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.

92nd Force Support Squadron

An airman first class received an Article 15 for sexually harassing other Air Force members, attempting to enter another Airman’s dorm without consent, and failing to wear his uniform correctly, in violation of Article 92 and Article 134, UCMJ. This member’s punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.

An airman received an Article 15 for failing to refrain from driving while their privileges to drive on military installations were suspended, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ. This member’s punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to the grade of airman basic, restrictions to the limits of Fairchild AFB for 14 days, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.

22nd Training Squadron

A senior airman received an Article 15 for operating a vehicle while drunk, in violation of Article 111, UCMJ. This member’s punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman first class and suspended forfeitures of $1,002.00 for 2 months.

INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION ACTIONS

92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

An airman was discharged for minor disciplinary infractions. Prior to discharge, this Airman was punished under Article 15, UCMJ for failing to go to his appointed place of duty. Prior to this Article 15 action, he was issued a Letter of Counseling for failing to properly account for his toolbox as required by AFI 21-101, Aircraft and Equipment Maintenance Management, and four additional LOCs for failing his physical fitness tests four separate times. In addition, he was issued a Letter of Reprimand for failing another physical fitness test and, separately, failing to go to his appointed place of duty. The separation authority, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, approved 92nd AMXS commander’s discharge recommendation and directed this member’s separation with a General discharge. Furthermore, as a result of this discharge characterization, in conjunction with being a first-term Airman, this Airman lost all of his G.I. Bill education benefits.

92nd Operations Support Squadron

An airman basic was separated for misconduct: minor disciplinary infractions. Prior to discharge, this Airman was punished under Article 15, UCMJ for making a false official statement with the intent to deceive. Prior to this Article 15 action, he was reprimanded for operating a motor vehicle in a reckless manner and counseled twice for failing to go to his appointed place of duty at the prescribed time. The separation authority, 92nd ARW commander, approved 92nd OSS commander’s discharge recommendation and directed this member’s separation with a General discharge. Furthermore, as a result of his discharge characterization, in conjunction with being a first-term Airman, this Airman forfeited all of his G.I. Bill education benefits.
