Team Fairchild hosted the Clear Lake Triathlon June 17, for the 13th year in a row. The Clear Lake Triathlon was a sprint triathlon, which consisted of a 500 meter swim, 17.5 kilometer bike ride and a five kilometer run.

"We live in the backyard of a historic IRONMAN course," said 1st Lt. Zachary Baumann, 92nd Force Support Squadron chief of readiness and plans. "Therefore, there's a lot of crazy intimidating triathletes around town. The Clear Lake Triathlon is awesome because it's the perfect low-stress entry race for any ability. If there was any 'just for fun' triathlon in the area, it's this one. Everyone had a blast!"

Approximately 30 members of Team Fairchild participated in the triathlon, which ranged from first timers to experienced tri-athletes and consisted of active duty, Air National Guard, reserve and family members.

"The Clear Lake Triathlon was a blast with a great family vibe," said Master Sgt. Lance Hasz, 92nd FSS career assistance advisor. "I recommend it to anyone, regardless of ability. Just go out there and have fun."

The event was planned and organized by several members of the 92nd FSS.
