“Don’t let rape define your life”

Shelly Monahan-Cain, a sexual assault survivor, talks with Team Fairchild about how she healed from her sexual assault through her faith in God, supportive coworkers and family, April 21, 2015, in the Red Morgan Center at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Monahan is a sexual assault survivor and was one of 40 victims of a high profile criminal in the late 1970s and early 1980s named the South Hill Rapist. Throughout her speech, she said she wants to encourage people who have gone through any type of traumatizing experience to not let it ruin or define who they are as a person.
