Colonel Matt York is the Commander, 92d Maintenance Group, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. In this role, he leads 1,200 Airmen and directs maintenance for 66 KC-135 R/T aircraft and associated support equipment to meet global air refueling commitments. He ensures the Group can rapidly and effectively deploy, employ, and redeploy when and where necessary. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel York served as the Executive Director of the Defense Logistics Agency Nuclear and Space Enterprise Support Office.
Colonel York graduated from Lipscomb University and earned his commission through AFROTC at Tennessee State University in 2003. Colonel York is a Master Aircraft and Munitions Maintenance Officer and has been privileged to lead Airmen and maintenance organizations supporting a variety of aircraft including the C-17 Globemaster III, the E-3 Sentry, The F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the E-8 JSTARS. He served as an Exchange Officer with the Canadian Forces for three years and was a member of the Canadian Forces’ first C-17 squadron. Colonel York is a graduate of the Air Force’s Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Operations School.
