Colonel RAMIL C. CODINA

Colonel Ramil C. Codina is the Commander, 92d Medical Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. He commands a group consisting of two squadrons delivering highly reliable patient-centered healthcare services to 34,000 beneficiaries assigned to the 92d Air Refueling Wing, 18 partner units, and the local community. His team of 280 personnel restores health, promotes population health through prevention, and enhances human performance. He oversees an $85 million financial program to ensure readiness and operational support for the full range of military missions. Col Codina graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in 1995, and from the University of Minnesota where he received his Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Management in 2009. He received a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in November 1997. Col Codina previously served as the Commander, 5th Medical Support Squadron and 5th Medical Group Deputy Commander, Air Force Global Strike Command, Minot AFB, North Dakota. In this position, he directly supported an outpatient care facility with 307 employees providing over 70,000 clinic visits and 15,000 referrals annually. He secured and managed financial and manpower resources and was responsible for a $10.4M operating budget as well as $1.5M in War Reserve and Homeland Defense Materials. He also developed and implemented strategic plans, business plans, and policies to effectively support 12,500 beneficiaries at two operational wings housing DoD’s largest Personnel Reliability Assurance Program. Prior to his current assignment, Col Codina was the Commander, 959th Clinical Support Squadron at , Brooke Army Medical Center, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
