Colonel Matthew L. Pfeiffer is the Commander of the 92d Medical Group, Fairchild AFB, Washington. He commands a group consisting of two squadrons delivering highly reliable patient-centered healthcare services to 34,000 beneficiaries assigned to the 92d Air Refueling Wing, 18 partner units, and the local community. His team of 280 personnel restores health, promotes population health through prevention, and enhances human performance. He oversees an $85 million financial program to ensure readiness and operational support for the full range of military missions. He ensures Active Duty personnel are medically ready to perform their assigned duties both at home station and while deployed.
Col Pfeiffer entered the Air Force as a direct commission in March 1999. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration with emphasis in Healthcare Management. He has held clinical assignments in inpatient, outpatient, and deployed locations. He has held multiple Air Force, Army, and Defense Health Agency command positions. Additionally he completed strategic level assignments at HAF and the Defense Health Agency. Col Pfeiffer has served at seven assignments, including a deployment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as an ICU clinical nurse and Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) member.
