92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs
1/23/2013 - FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. --
Name: Tech. Sgt. Benjamin Thomas
Unit: 22nd Training Squadron
Duty title: NCO in charge of operations
What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild Air Force Base? I plan and execute S-V80-A Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape school and S-V80-B emergency egress and helo recovery operations. I also supervise more than 30 Airmen and civilians and instruct more than 800 students per year.
What do you enjoy about your job? I enjoy working in a career field full of individuals who want to be here and want to get the job done well. I also enjoy the broad spectrum of work environments and missions that we are involved in, on base, in the field, parachuting, etc.
Why did you choose to serve in the military? I was looking for a job that I could get into and have a positive influence, without needing to spend a lot of time at college.
What goals do you want to achieve or meet while at the Fairchild AFB? Make Master Sgt.
Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her? My Father, I learned faith in God and the importance of balancing family life with a meaningful professional life. |
