Senior Airman Gregory Mitchell is a 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron theater distribution center technician at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, July 12, 2012. Mitchell is responsible for issuing service members equipment before entering the area of responsibility. 7/16/2012 - TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan -- Every week, a member of the Transit Center at Manas team is selected as the Warrior of the Week. This individual is recognized based on outstanding performance, good conduct, work ethic and most importantly, for a job well done.

Meet the Warrior of the Week - Senior Airman Gregory Mitchell is an Expeditionary Theater Distribution Center technician at the 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron at TCM and is deployed from 92 LRS in Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.

Here's what Mitchell has to say about himself and his deployment.

What do you do on a daily basis at the Transit Center? I issue and ensure individuals going down range receive serviceable individual protective equipment and understand how to properly use it.

What do you enjoy about being at the Transit Center? I love the fact that everything is in walking distance and that we have trees.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? I chose to serve to travel and experience things I enjoyed when I was a dependent while my father was serving.

How do you feel about your contributions to the Transit Center mission and current operations in the area of responsibility? I enjoy being deployed because you get to better understand the bigger picture and meet cool people in the process.

Family: My mother, Berlisha; My father, Charles and my wife Katrina.

Time at the Transit Center: One month

Time in military: 4.5 years

Greatest accomplishment: Meeting and marrying my wife.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while at the Transit Center: Become a member of the Honor Guard drill team at the Transit Center at Manas.

Hobbies: I enjoy shooting, working on cars and flying remote controlled aircraft.

Your best habit: Working too hard to lose track of time.

Favorite movies: All the Transformers movies and superhero remakes

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her: My father as a 1st Shirt. He taught me the importance of maturity.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why: Nikola Tesla for one of the greatest contributions to the world of electrical technology.
