Staff Sgt. Adam Fillman, 92nd Maintenance Squadron metals technology journeyman, solders a part onto a ladder April 7, 2015, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Fillman and his flight maintain’s 35 KC-135 Stratotankers, three UH-1N Iroquois helicopters, and 493 pieces of aerospace ground equipment by operating manual/computer numerical controlled lathes, mills and precision measuring tools. He also designs and manufactures non-procurable and non-aircraft parts by utilizing technical orders or blue prints as well as weld, braze, forge, heat treat and solder metal alloys.
