FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. --
Team Fairchild gathered at Miller Park here Aug. 10 for post-Unit Compliance Inspection and game festivities. Fairchild servicemembers, employees and family members participated in sports challenges, a picnic and some good old-fashioned fun.
Activities kicked off at 7 a.m. with a 5-kilometer team run sponsored by the Safety office, which more than 200 people attended. The 92nd Security Forces Squadron team claimed race victory.
Following the morning run, Fairchild teams entered an open competition period that included tog-of-war, dodge ball and softball games. The 92nd Medical Operations Squadron won the traditional-style, single-elimination tug-of-war competition, while the 92nd Operations Support Squadron took the dodge ball title. The Chiefs versus Eagles softball championship ended with a Chiefs victory, 18 to 11.
Fairchild members were also welcome to enter a bench-press competition, the final sports competition of the day. Weight teams placed by lifting a percentage of their body weight (65 percent for makes, 45 percent for females) as many repetitions as possible. The 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron team took the competition with 128 repetitions.
