FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. --
Members of Team Fairchild paused in remembrance of the fateful 9/11 terrorist attacks during a retreat ceremony Sept. 11.
The base honor guard performed the colors, the fire department rang the bell, the chaplain said a prayer and the all of Fairchild paid their respects.
The retreat ceremony serves a twofold purpose. It signals the end of the official duty day and serves as a ceremony for paying respect to the flag and fallen comrades.
