Colonel Gene A. Jacobus is the Vice Commander, 92d Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. The wing provides global reach airpower and deploys expeditionary forces in support of worldwide combat, contingency, and humanitarian requirements. The wing operates 44 KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft performing refueling, airlift, and aeromedical evacuation missions supporting U.S. and coalition contingency operations as well as U.S. Strategic Command’s strategic deterrence missions. As Vice Commander, Colonel Jacobus assists the Wing Commander in leading activities and assigned functions of Fairchild Air Force Base and support for 23 associate units. Prior to this assignment, he served as U.S. Transportation Command’s Liaison Officer to U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.

Colonel Jacobus was commissioned through Air Force ROTC at Florida State University in 2000. He began his flying career at Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina and has primarily flown the KC-135R/T and C-17. He has commanded at the squadron level and has experience in air refueling, airlift, air operations center, and contingency response operations.
