Border Patrol Explorers visit Fairchild

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. --   Border Patrol Explorer students from Oroville, Wash., visited the fire department here April 4.

Firefighters from the 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron showed students around the fire house allowing them to get a first-hand look of the station. The students were able to check out equipment such as, a thermal vision camera, fire protection gear and Crash 6, an Oshkosh Striker fire truck.

U.S. Air Force firemen protect their base's aircraft, people, property and the environment from fires and disasters. Additionally, they are also charged with providing fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and hazardous material responses.
