92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs

10/16/2012 - FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. --

Name: Tech. Sgt. Kevin Gallagher

Unit: 92nd Security Forces Squadron

Duty Title: Standardization and Evaluation Evaluator

Hometown: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild AFB? Ensure 92nd SFS personnel are trained and prepared for duty.

What do you enjoy about your job? The thing I enjoy most is watching the people I'm evaluating succeed especially when I can tell they have spent a great deal of time preparing.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? To serve my country.

Family: Wife, Kacey

Time in military: 8 years

Greatest accomplishment: Earning my Community College of the Air Force degree.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while at the Fairchild AFB: Complete my bachelor's degree and make master sergeant.

Hobbies: Working out, working on the house and woodworking.

Your best habit: Always trying to have a good work ethic. It is easy to succeed in life and especially in the military if you aren't afraid to push yourself and are willing to work for what you want.

Favorite Quote: "It really isn't that hard to outwork your opponent, because most people don't know how to push themselves to their true potential."

Favorite movies: "Vision Quest"

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her: My dad taught me that life isn't easy and it isn't fair. You will always have to make sacrifices in life but you don't have to sacrifice your honor and integrity to get to where you want to be.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why: I would spend an hour with Dan Gable. He is one of the greatest wrestlers ever and was an even better coach. But he is most known for his tireless work ethic and devotion to whatever goal he is working to achieve. Spending an hour with him is enough to keep me motivated for years to come.
