TRICARE Prime Rollback - Check To See If You Will Lose 'Prime'
TRICARE Management Activity has a new online tool for retirees under age 65 and surviving spouses to verify if their Prime network will end Oct. 1, forcing them to use TRICARE Standard.
With the new fiscal year, managed care networks operating beyond 40 miles of military treatment facilities or base closure sites will be halted under next-generation TRICARE support contracts. The change, to impact 171,000 beneficiaries, is intended to cut TRICARE costs for taxpayers. (See complete memorandum

Tobacco-Free 92nd MDG Treatment Facility Campus
Effective Oct. 1, 2012, the 92nd MDG will become a tobacco free campus. The MDG campus includes all outdoor areas (e.g. parking lots, grass areas) with the prohibition including the use of both smoking and non-smoking forms of tobacco. This action is in response to the new AFI 40-102, Tobacco use in the Air Force, and DODI 1010.15, Smoke-Free DOD Facilities. Aligned with this policy is our support of the additional restrictions that must be implemented at Fairchild AFB. (See complete memorandum

Yellow Cards
The clinic is going away with yellow cards but the Pharmacy will still use the yellow "signature cards" authorizing other people to pick up their medications.
Faxes
We have changed our process. Faxes can be picked up next day, but we only start processing once the patient is at the pharmacy and checks-in. We were getting too many faxed in prescriptions that patients were not picking up, so we had to change our policy.
