Scott celebrates ‘Year of the Lear’ with consolidation, avionics upgrades

A C-21 aircraft gets fueled up outside of a 458th Airlift Squadron hangar, before a training flight on Dec. 17, 2018 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The 458th AS celebrates 35 years of C-21 operations at Scott AFB in 2019. The C-21A is a twin turbofan-engine aircraft used for cargo and passenger airlift. The aircraft is the military version of the Learjet 35A business jet. In addition to providing cargo and passenger airlift, the aircraft is also capable of transporting one litter or five ambulatory patients during aeromedical evacuations.
