Team Fairchild, family and friends joined in celebration during the annual Senior NCO Recognition Ceremony to recognize thirty-eight technical sergeants selected for promotion July 29 at the Red Morgan Center.

Chief Master Sgt. Todd Petzel, 18th Air Force command chief, spoke at the event, congratulating Fairchild’s newest promotees selected to enter the senior NCO tier.

“Always lead with humility,” Petzel said. “You are a professional in the profession of arms. Be proud of this accomplishment. From here, the opportunities are endless.”

Petzel was joined by Col. Ryan Samuelson, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, in congratulating the newest promotees, and thanking their families and friends for their “unwavering commitment.”

“Without strong families, we do not have strong communities,” Samuelson said. “Without strong communities, we do not have a strong country.”

The Senior NCO Recognition Ceremony is held annually to recognize those technical sergeants selected for promotion into the senior NCO tier.

“The Senior NCO Recognition Ceremony was one of the most significant rites of passage I’ve ever been through,” said Tech. Sgt. David Rodriguez, 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron emergency management NCO in charge. “It was empowering being honored with my fellow peers, and being recognized by so many outstanding leaders.”
