The following are brief notifications or updates about events happening on or around the base:

Traffic restriction at Main Gate
Sanitary sewer repair work is scheduled for Mitchell Drive through the Main Gate Saturday and Sunday. The inbound lanes from U.S. Route 2 leading to the Main Gate will be reduced to one lane starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane until Sunday at 6:30 a.m. Please use extra caution when traveling through this area. For more information, contact Wayne Musselwhite at 247-3062.

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is a highly effective program to help ages 13 to 18 years-old develop better social, academic and communication skills. The course is designed to empower teens with intrapersonal knowledge and help them succeed in different aspects of teen life. The program takes place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Deel Community Center in conference room #1 on Feb. 16. There is no charge, but you must pre-register by 4:30 p.m. today. Sign up at the Youth Center or call 247-5601.

Officer's Spouse's Club scholarships
The Fairchild Officer's Spouse's Club has Scholarship Applications available for graduating seniors and dependent spouses (regardless of rank) for the 2007-2008 school year. The Fairchild Officers' Spouses Club will offer scholarships for seniors graduating from the greater Spokane area high schools who are dependents of a U.S. servicemember residing or stationed in the local area who is: active duty, on a remote tour or legally retired or deceased. Spouse scholarship applicants must reside in the Spokane area and must be the non-military dependent spouse of a U.S. servicemember, residing or stationed in the local area, who is: active duty, on a remote tour or legally retired or deceased and has not previously received an FOSC Spouse Award. Applications maybe picked up at the base Thrift Shop or Airman and Family Readiness Center. Applicants can request to have an application sent by mail by sending an e-mail to kimdamonky2003@yahoo.com. Submission deadline is March 15.
Refuse bulk item pick-up
Bulk item pick-up will be Feb. 21 for housing units in the Fort Wright Village, officer Capehart and senior officer housing. For housing units in Galena Station, NCO Capehart and the main base and Survival Dorms, bulk pick-up will be Feb. 28. For residents who would like to donate items to Goodwill, put items out on the curbside clearly marked "Goodwill" and they will be picked up. Items accepted include furniture, appliances, outdoor equipment, bikes, motorcycles, lawnmowers, tires, electronic equipment, etc. No item shall be greater than 10 feet in length, or weigh more than 300 pounds.
