The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has been selected as 2017 Retailer of the Year by New Age Electronics, a leading distributor of consumer electronics and gaming products and services.

The award winner is selected based on year-over-year revenue growth, close executive alignment, strategic partnership, sourcing of multiple brands and a consistent positive credit standing. The Exchange was recognized for expanding its offerings with New Age Electronics, developing new and innovative ways to market and sell their products to consumers in stores and online. In addition, they opened their website to all honorably discharged military personnel and providing veterans with a lifelong online shopping benefit.

According to Jimmie Burris, Fairchild Exchange general manager, the Exchange team at Fairchild contributed to this award by providing excellent customer service. Over 70 percent of their staff has some type of military affiliation so they take pride in serving each customer with great customer experiences.

“To be in a group that was nominated for this prestigious award is humbling. This is an amazing accomplishment and goes to recognize the unseen things the Exchange Team at Fairchild does for our customers,” Burris said. “This award is the result of labor and pride our team takes in taking care of this great community.”

They not only strive to provide excellent customer service, but they also support the local agencies that compose Fairchild through vendor sponsored giveaways, contests and programs.

“Each year the Exchange provides a dividend that supports our morale, welfare and recreation functions on base. Last year, the Exchange was able to present a dividend of $419,311 back to Fairchild,” Burris said. “This support goes to help fund the Child Development Center, gyms, swimming pools, outdoor recreation and other agencies on base.”
